Dreams of Loss and Loss

A poem I’ve written inspired by my favourite film “Inception”:

In dreams we find a world so real,

A place where love and loss can heal.

A world where we can be ourselves,

And live the life we dreamt in shelves.

But dreams can quickly turn to night,

Where fear and loss can take their bite.

Where love can fade and disappear,

And leave us broken, cold and clear.

Inception showed us how it’s done,

A world where dreams could be outrun.

Where love and loss could be controlled,

And dreams could be what we behold.

But even in this dreamy place,

Where love and loss can be erased,

We can’t escape the real world’s pain,

And all the loss we must sustain.

But still, we dream and dream again,

And hope that love will not be slain.

For in our dreams, we find our peace,

And all our pain and loss can cease.

So let us dream of love and light,

And never give up without a fight.

For dreams can take us to the sky,

And help us live before we die.
